Chattanooga Bound for a Urostomy

Update: 5/29/25 - I am currently in the hospital in Knoxville. I went to a doctor’s appointment and my blood pressure was super low, so they said I needed to go to the ER. They’ve poked on me and took plenty of blood. Still waiting on cultures to come back.

I had to call and cancel my urostomy this morning, but they’ll be calling me soon to reschedule. So this is a small bump in the road.

My name is Sheena. My life changed when I was in my early 20’s., I started to have symptoms of multiple sclerosis I was sent to two neurosurgeons. One of them told me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with me that I was stressed and the other one said that it wasn’t a mess. It was too much fluid on my brain fast-forward about 10 years and I’m a wonderful doctor out of Knoxville and he told me I had a mass put me on medication it helped.

And and February 2024 about I found a boil that I thought was OK. I had it lanced went on about day few weeks later I ended up in Fort Sanders Hospital and they’re like we don’t think that’s a boil. We think that is a pressure ulcer. It got so bad. It went down to the bone not in the bone thank God, but they didn’t get to do a debridement and clean it all out because it was bad. It was black and yellow until August 2024. I had a fully catheter which hurts so bad I was told that my bladder was the size of a walnut, neurologist, and then we’ve tried everything with my kidneys put stents in the urethra had them changed out several times tried Botox a couple times had a reaction and then she suggested that maybe I should get my bladder removed and so she called around in Erlanger hospital in Chattanooga I checked my case so I’ll be going there and having surgery on May 30 and if anybody can help with expenses, it would be greatly appreciated. It’s a day surgery and my sister and I planned on staying two days just in case something happens you know cause I was supposed to be the first one we live 2 1/2 hours away and it’ll be easier just to get a hotel room the night before but I appreciate everybody’s help. Every little dollar helps.
