Our School Council have been working hard all year trying to find ways to celebrate what an amazing school we have - but also to make it even better!
We all know that school budgets are tight, so our School Council wants to try to raise its own money to help our wonderful school. Once we've raised the money, each School Council rep will ask their class and Miss Willis what they feel the school most needs. It can be anything from books for the library; extra stationery and resources; or fun things like playground equipment and reward stickers. We will use any money we raise to try to get some of these 'wish list' items.
The School Council also wants to raise money for charity. They asked their classes to suggest charities that they would most like to support and Cancer Research and The British Heart Foundation tied for the most votes. We will donate 10% of anything we raise and split it between these two important charities.
To help raise money for our school and our chosen charities, we are going to do a sponsored silence on Tuesday, 8th July! KS2 (Years 3-6) will aim to complete the first half of the morning, up to playtime, in complete silence - not just the pupils but the teachers and TAs too! We will have to use whiteboards, pictures, signals and gestures to communicate. Year 2 will also take part, but for a shorter time of 30 minutes. It is not going to be easy - the chatty teachers will find it particularly challenging!
We would love you to sponsor us! Your money will not only raise funds for our school, so we can buy much-needed resources and 'wish list' items, but will also help raise money for great causes. Please pass this link on to aunts/uncles/cousins/neighbours - so they can donate too!
Thanks so much,
Team Chatsworth
