It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved mother, Michelle Hendry Chaplin, who left us on August 22, 2025, in Glendale, Arizona, surrounded by her loved ones.

This fundraiser is being organized by her daughter, Amanda, together with Michelle’s family, to bring her home to Wellsville, Utah, where she will be laid to rest beside her parents, Ralph and Ione Hendry. Fulfilling this wish means the world to us, as it honors Michelle’s love for her hometown and her deep bond with her parents.

About Michelle

Michelle was born on May 14, 1962, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and spent her early years in Wellsville before life carried her to Arizona and Oregon. She was raised in the LDS faith, which gave her strength and guidance throughout her life. She earned her degree in psychology, raised her children with devotion, and lived with resilience, kindness, and a free spirit.

She loved horses, nature, music, books, and art — and she cherished meaningful conversations. As a child, she could be found riding dirt bikes with her brother Kevin; as an adult, she poured that adventurous spirit into raising a family and building a life filled with love and independence.

Michelle will be remembered for her intelligence, compassion, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
