Dee’s Chateau d’Orquevaux Artist Residency Fund

Hi! I'm Dee Rovetta, a Raleigh, NC based and New Bern, NC raised artist. I’m elated to share with you all that I was accepted to be an Artist in Residence at Chateau d’Orquevaux in France from November 3rd to the 30th in 2024 (rescheduled from 2023). Thanks to everyone's donations, I was able to pay the first payment and part of the second!

Chateau Orquevaux is an internationally awarded artists’ and writers residency — only 20% of applicants that apply are accepted! This is a HUGE opportunity and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to fully focus on my artistic practice for four weeks and travel out of the country for the first time. Unfortunately, not being able to afford all the things that come with being offered a residency spot or opportunity is commonplace for artists early in their career.

Funds will be put towards paying for my round trip flight (around 1,149 USD) and covering the rest of the payments for the residency itself ($1,316.14). Once that goal is reached, all other funds will be used for transportation to and around Orquevaux and France, art supplies and covering bills while I'm away.
