My Name is Paul Stamford

And here is my Story

Hi everyone,

For the past 5 years I have had to wear a cast or boot to aid me to stand,

My ankle developed an ulcer and over time I had five operations on my ankle with no success, finally the Doctors decided there was only one thing left to do and that was to have a below knee amputation,

This was done on January the 10th 2025, once done I was referred to Chaston House Prosthetic and orthotic center at Great Shelford, Cambridge,

The Staff were wonderful they soon had me in their gym teaching me how to walk again, I found it very hard at first but with all their support and dedication they had me up and about and gave me the confidence to get back to some normality which I’ll be forever grateful to them,

Now with their support and the support of my family and friends I found I could return to the gym and visit the golfing range to get some practice in. Golf was one of the things I missed the most over the last five years, so this is an Insite to my story and where I am now,

Now I wish to give something back to Chaston House to show my appreciation not just from me but from all that use this fantastic service,

I’m going to be joined by my son Faron and dear friend Al Park along with friends to support me on Saturday the 11th April 2026, we’re doing a 5k walk to raise money for equipment for Chaston House Physiotherapy Gym

Route

Start at 10-30 from Muscle & Mind Gym at Levellers Lane St Neots onto Howitts Lane-St Mary’s St, onto the Market Square, along the High Street- Cambridge Street to Gromwell Road, finishing back at Muscle & Mind Gym,

We're hoping to raise around £750.00 that will purchase two Special wheel Chairs that are badly needed;
