“Chasing Dreams: Hailey Castillo Journey to Spain”

Hi, everyone :) My name is Hailey Castillo, and I hope you take the time to read about my WHY. I’m a 7-year experienced volleyball player, a 3-year volleyball coach at my former middle school, and a rising senior at Charter School of Educational Excellence! I am now entering my last year of high school, and I am excited but scared simultaneously. Volleyball has been my passion for years. I have been invited to play in Spain in November. (I AM SUPER EXCITED) and it’s probably the best thing I’ve heard this summer. To me, playing volleyball is like a baby being excited to blow bubbles; it brings me excitement and happiness every time I step onto any court and even put on my gear to get ready for a game or practice. I get excited to pass someone’s serve or spike, and when I make mistakes, it pushes me to do better. I created this fundraiser to help my mom and me with all the BIG expenses she struggles to pay independently. I am a student-athlete looking forward to playing volleyball in college and internationally. She (Sasha Garcia, my dukey dukes) is a mother of 4 children and goes above & beyond to make sure we are doing what we need to do, even on her worst days. Not only is she my mom, but she is also my #1 supporter, my biggest fan trying to make the impossible possible on her own. Someday, I hope to repay her for everything she’s accomplished just by herself while being a full-time student, full-time worker, and full-time mom. I couldn’t have done it without her and all the sacrifices she’s made to help me become this good & strong in life. A strong mom creates stronger children. My biggest goal in life, I would say, is to see that I made it just for her, to see her beautiful smile every morning and listen to her yell in the stands or at a TV for me saying, “My baby did it.” Even for me to see myself out there telling myself, “You did it, finally,” you must fail to succeed. All money donated will be going towards my volleyball career. Any amount you are willing to contribute is greatly appreciated!!
