On Friday, June 27th, 2025, Chase was in a bad accident; he fell off an electric longboard. He was rushed to HCMC Level 1 Trauma Center by ambulance. At the hospital, his alertness was fading fast, so they put him on a breathing ventilator. Chase had multiple CT scans monitoring the bleeding in his brain and his fractured skull that was leaking cerebrospinal fluid out of his left ear. To redirect the fluid, they put in a lower back lumbar tube for 8 days so the body could heal the compromised area. Due to the impact of the fall, the bones behind his left ear broke, causing hearing loss and a blood clot. In addition, the left facial nerve is either severed or severely damaged, resulting in paralysis of his left side face. He was released on July 10th, 2025, after spending 12 of the 13 days in ICU. Chase has a lot of follow-up appointments and reconstructive consultations for the facial nerve and hearing with the U of M medical ENT team. This tragedy has ended Chase's high school football & wrestling career at Prior Lake and will continue to affect the rest of his life. This fund is to help support the out-of-pocket expenses for the long road to recovery. If there are any leftover funds, they will be put into a trust for Chase and his future.
