Chase's fight for life

Donation protected
My name is Dyno.

I can't tell you exactly what age I was when I met Chase, I lived in New Mexico all my life, and he lived in Florida for all of his life. How did we meet? Over Xbox Live. We were a year apart and probably met around the age of 12. I spent my whole life with him from that point on; a couple of years later, we got together as a couple.

Close to 5 years into the relationship, I graduated, and he got his GED. He and his family moved to Colorado. He had never seen the world outside of Florida, and he was ready to take on the world as a new and budding adult. He got a job at an appliance factory where his naturally large physique was perfect for the job, it was perfect for him, and it would be a great career until he started getting sick.

I lived with him for close to 3 years, and I learned a lot from him. He taught me how to forgive, and in his words, "Remember the good times, leave the bad behind you." He taught me to always engage during interactions, and he taught me that it was possible to love myself. He still has much love to give to this world.

Chase is a very bright young boy with a big heart; Chase is knowledgeable in various subjects, and he loves martial arts and video games. He is kind to everyone he meets and has no bias.

On the afternoon of March 30th, 2022, he took a 40 Cal. pistol and shot himself in his head.

It came as a shock to me and his loving mother, Lori, was there with him when it happened, and she was able to call for help. It took 45 minutes for the ambulance to arrive, where they took him to the nearest hospital, then airlifted him for emergency surgery; he had to be revived twice, and parts of the bullet were still in his brain. After a long fight for life, he is still with us and two months after this rigorous battle to live, he smiled at me once more.

Even after so much pain, Chase can still smile.

He is making many improvements, and it's only been two months. He can eat, he can read. Nod his head yes and no.
He can't speak, so we are all finding new ways to communicate, and I remember when we thought he wouldn't make it this far.

Here in a week, he will be coming home. His family consisting of his mother and his step-father, who loves him as his blood son, are getting their home ready for him. They need help with the expense of making their home wheelchair accessible, and they need to find supplies that he needs for quality of life at home as he still recovers from this detrimental injury.

The smallest donations are appreciated and will be used for:

-Wheelchair assessable transportation so that his family will be able to get him to and from his doctor and therapy.

-Making their home a ramp for his wheelchair

-Medical equipment they need for his continued recovery

Chase is a miracle, and may his light continue to spread in this world.
