On July 2, 2022 , Chase was involved in a horrific car accident. His injuries are extensive. His wonderful family is with him 24/7. He is currently in ICU at St Lukes I’m Duluth. He has a a long road ahead of him, but this kid is a fighter. Travel expenses, loss of work, and medical expenses will add up quickly. Please donate if you are able.
Update 7/4: The hospitalist & critical care team have decided it's best to keep Chase sedated & on the ventilator for today so we don't risk a repeat of yesterday. On his way to CT yesterday he started convulsing. The seizure went non-stop for almost 2 hours straight. He then had an anaphylactic allergic reaction to a medication they used to try to stop the seizure. We have also learned that the other people involved in the accident will be ok! Mostly broken bones & should be released from hospitals in a day or 2. We are so thankful for this news as it was weighing heavily on all of us but especially Chase. The sheriff's deputy said that was the thing Chase kept asking- "are the other people ok?". He has such a big heart❤️
They are still looking at the possibility of transferring him to Mayo.
Update 7/3/22 2pm: Due to complications Chase is now medically sedated and has been intubated & on a ventilator. His medical team is consulting with Mayo & he may be transferred out. Thank you so much for the love & support
7/3/22 Last evening Chase was involved in horrible car accident on his way home from work. He was flown to St Luke's in Duluth. He was in surgery until just after 2 this morning & is now in ICU. He has a fractured & dislocated left hip, right knee is broken with severed tendons & ligaments, both legs have severe soft tissue damage, internal injuries in the chest cavity, back/neck injuries and other injuries still being found. He will be back in surgery in a few days. His injuries have also triggered the seizures and is compromising his breathing. Please keep him in your thoughts. I will post updates as we get them.
