On November 16, 2022 Chase went to the emergency room with dizziness and stomach pain. They discovered he had internal bleeding, with large blood clots in his stomach (Hemorrhagic Gastritis). Chase was rushed into surgery. During this surgery, a quarter of Chase’s stomach was removed to stop the internal bleeding. Chase was moved to the ICU in critical condition. Within 48 hours, his stomach filled with blood clots again. Chase was taken back into emergency surgery. This time his entire stomach was removed. He spent 23 days in the ICU and had three additional surgeries to stabilize his condition. On December 11, 2022, his condition improved enough to move out of the ICU. Chase will need extensive inpatient and outpatient rehab. The road to recovery is going to be very long and time-consuming. Chase is 28 years old. He can live without a stomach, but it will require major life changes.
We are fundraising to help Chase with current and future medical expenses that are accumulating from this tragic life event. Our family needs your prayers and would appreciate any generous donation to assist with the cost of Chase's recovery.
The hospital has not determined the cause of Chase’s internal bleeding. However, they did rule out cancer as a cause.
