Chase and Luna's Adventure Fund
Donation protected
So I know this is not the typical GoFundMe ask here... I even feel semi-guilty making this. I'm not suffering from something, a family member has not passed away, and there is not any grave situation that has happened in my community or around me.
The why for asking for funding is simply that, pursuing your dreams, your passions, and taking that leap into the unknown is not cheap.
The unknown for me, the jumping out of the bird's nest for me, is adventuring. I want to be able to make a career out of this and document all the adventures as they come. I want to be able to bring my dog along on all sorts of adventures throughout her and my life.
So, for our first adventure, I want to bike 2100 miles with her from Colorado to Oregon via The TransAmerican bike trail. With this adventure, a lot of costs have already started to accrue and we haven't even left yet (departure in June). Things like a bike trailer (for Luna), a new bike, all the equipment and attachments needed for a LONG distance bike ride, buying maps for the entire route, and many other small things have already started the exhausting of the bank account. During the trip, all the food for myself and Luna will also need to be purchased as we go. Lastly, post-trip, we will have to rent a car and drive back since she is too big to go on a plane (unless she were to be flown in the under carry). All in all, I'm projecting this trip to cost roughly in the neighborhood of at least $5,000.
Granted, I'm taking on all these charges and upcoming charges with the fact that I am going to have to take unpaid leave for the duration of my trip as well. I have been blessed up to this point w/ my current job and making enough to get this trip rolling (no pun intended) logistically and financially and it is not like it will be a deal breaker if I get $0 donated for this trip...
But, I find that I struggle to reach out and ask for help, in a lot of different aspects of life. So I wanted to come on here and ask for help from friends, family and all-around random strangers as I embark on this journey and hopefully many more to come. Look at it as you sponsoring a meal, sponsoring a piece of equipment I had to buy for my bike, or just a friendly way to contribute to someone pursuing their dream!
LASTLY, I have decided that if we hit the $2,000 goal and go beyond it, HALF OF ALL the money that is raised will go back to The World Wildlife Fund as I feel this charity is most aligned with my passions and sense of adventuring this wild world!
Thanks :)
