Chase and Alex Elkins Motorcycle Accident
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Chase Elkins. My wife, Alex, and I were in a serious motorcycle accident on the evening of June 2,2023. What we thought was going to be a nice little drive, turned into a nightmare. As we were riding down a two-lane road, I noticed a truck approaching, but it was coming into our lane. As I tried to move further to the right of our lane, he kept coming over. I had nowhere to go and by that time, the truck had struck my left leg. I will spare all the horrific and gory details. My wife and I were life flighted to Tallahassee, where we both had to have urgent surgery. The damage to my left leg was so severe that I had to have my leg amputated below the knee. I am scheduled to have surgery done on my left hand to try to repair the damage done to two of my fingers.
My wife, Alex, remains in the hospital due to injuries to her left leg. She has already had multiple surgeries and is currently waiting to be transferred to a specialty hospital where they can hopefully salvage her left leg with yet another surgery. Unfortunately, even if they can salvage her leg, she will never regain the use of her left foot and will have to wear a brace for the rest of her life.
Thank God we escaped with our lives, but we will live with a constant reminder of this nightmare for the rest of our lives.
