CHAS NEEDS WHEELCHAIR ACCESS
Please help us fix his bathroom, bedroom and entry to handicap ready.
Chas' tragedy began on 12/26/18. He was riding his motorcycle home when he had a near fatal head on collision. He was 1.5 blocks away from home, when an SUV cut in front of him taking him out. He suffered 3 left leg compound fractures causing massive blood loss.
The worst of many injuries was a fractured spine at T5-T6, which was fused 3 days later. The surgeon gave him a 3 percent chance of walking again.
We are so thankful that he is alive. Now we are faced with a lengthy rehab. While we hope rehab will help him regain some function, right now he needs wheelchair access. Contractors have been hired and we have begun the necessary changes, in spite of the lack of funds. The estimated cost is $25,000. Work will begin in 2 weeks. Chas is a gear-head working on restoring a 1984 F-250 Cummins diesel conversion truck. He likes the outdoors: fishing, hunting, dirt bike riding. Chas is our generous son who is always willing to lend a helping hand.
