Charnjit's Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
My mum was diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach cancer in October 2016 at the age of 52. Her consultant at the time told her they could not operate or cure her so she underwent palliative chemotherapy. During this time she drastically changed her diet, took supplements, exercised (double spin classes!!) and used natural treatments.

In March 2017, they stopped all treatment and she was told that there was nothing else they could do. I cannot begin to tell you how devastating this news was for all of us. However, I knew my mum would never give up and that she is a true fighter. She was so determined not to let cancer dictate her life that she researched lots of alternative therapies and sought a second opinion.

After 8 long months she found a consultant who was willing to help her. He and his team were so impressed with her positivity, strong will, determination and was astounded her cancer remained stable during those 8 months when she was left to fend for herself. She became the talk of the hospital!

Her case was discussed in several cancer conferences where they came up with a plan of action. In December 2017, following many tests and examinations, her new consultant and his dedicated team decided to fully remove her stomach. Despite our concerns surrounding the operation, my family and I were ecstatic at the thought of the cancer being eradicated. The operation was a success but, unfortunately, the initial elation soon faded as we were told that her cancer had spread into some of her lymph nodes and her peritoneum, the part of the stomach which cannot be removed. Mum is now due to start on a different type of chemotherapy on a weekly basis for 6 months.

Even though it was very disheartening to know that she probably would not have needed another round of chemotherapy if they had operated on her at the very beginning, my mum picked herself up and went to see a natural oncologist in Germany. This oncologist is offering a variety of treatments that will work alongside her course of chemo. These treatments will help the chemo to work more effectively and minimise the debilitating side effects. The downside is that this needs to be privately funded and, at a cost of £350 to £600 per session plus the associated travel, it doesn’t come cheap.

Throughout the past 15 months, Mum has been using a variety of natural treatments and remedies alongside the traditional ones. Given her initial prognosis, I would say that everything she has tried has played a vital role. To say my mum has made amazing progress is an understatement, but she still has a little way to go. I am so very proud of my mum. I think she is a truly inspirational role model and I sincerely hope you agree with me by donating to her cause.

So far she has defied the odds and worked tirelessly to beat this cruel and debilitating disease. With your kind generosity, I am hoping to raise £15,000 to cover the cost of what will hopefully be the last treatment she will need to make a full recovery. Mum needs a helping hand to get her over this final hurdle so please help our mini-miracle by giving what you can.
