We have a sad update that early December 25, 2025 there was a fire at the Charlottetown Farmers Market
At the moment the fire is out, and there was no injury or loss of life as the market was unoccupied.
The fire marshal will be doing an investigation on Friday to determine the cause of the fire.
There was significant damage to a portion of the exterior of the building, as well as smoke damage, the power has been shut off, and we have been in touch with our insurance company, the building will be closed, and the water drained.
At this time it looks like the Charlottetown Farmers Market will be closed for the foreseeable future, but please check our social media for more information as we process through this tragedy.
Please take this time to enjoy your holidays, and cherish your loved ones, and we will have more updates as they come.
Please Note: While the Charlottetown Farmers Market is closed for repairs we will be looking for a temporary space to operate - please check back as this situation evolves.
The goal of this campaign is to help with the repair costs to the building, although the market is insured, the market operates on the rent it charges the vendors.
The Charlottetown Farmers market is the biggest farmers market in PEI with over 60 local vendors, and is a long standing part of the PEI community. We appreciate your support in this challenging time.
