Charlottes MCT Treament

I'm currently living out one of my worst nightmares. There is no other way I can describe this. Charlotte is my love, my baby, my best friend, my biggest support (my ESA) and she has been with me throughout some of the toughest years of my life. I owe everything to her and I thank God often for sending her to me. If you know anything about me, you know how much I love Charlotte. And if you've known me long enough, you also remember how much I loved my first dog, Diva, who passed away from cancer in August 2010.
On Sunday, September 17th Charlotte had a needle aspiration and cytology on a suspicious lump on her thigh. It is between the size of a pea and an olive and was mostly non-concerning, but I still insisted on having it checked out. I'm glad I did. On Friday, September 22nd, I received the call from Charlottes wonderful vet Dr. Borst, that is was a mast cell tumor (mct) and that we needed to have it removed as soon as possible. I will note, besides this and some allergies (which she gets every year just like her mom), she is otherwise seemingly healthy and a very happy girl.
Immediately I went into shock and survival mode. Within hours I had scheduled pre-op bloodwork and her mass removal surgery (Oct 3), reached out to other lovely humans who are sharing the same devastation for advice, did research on the disease, ordered supplements and joined facebook groups for support and advice.
There is really not much I know at the moment. We are waiting on bloodwork and then after the surgery, we'll be waiting on biopsy results. From there we'll know how aggressive this is and what the next steps are. Right now, I'm raising funds for Charlottes MCT removal and subsequent treatment (which is estimated to be $2,123.00 on the lower end). We do have health insurance for her but are unsure of what they may reimburse, if anything. Please pray that the surgery goes well and that it can be managed with diet and holistic treatment. I'm open to doing whatever will extend her life and maintains her quality of life, including chemo + radiation. If those are the next steps, I may adjust the goals of this fundraiser.
I humbly ask you to help us fight this. From what I've read so far, this is a continuous life long battle and I'm determined to fight for many years if I have to. Charlotte is worth it and I would take the cancer for her if I could. I just want to keep seeing her smile every day. If you wish to help by sending money through zelle or venmo (@rivingtonrose), please contact me. If you cannot help financially, please pray for us and if you have any hopeful stories, please send them my way! We need all the hope and positive vibes we can get.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart
