With a heavy heart, I am fundraising for my beloved sister, Charlotte Tisdale.
Charlotte came very close to passing away on October 3, 2022.
Thankfully, Dr. Lane Ritter at Martha Jefferson hospital ER saved her life.
She had an emergency surgery because a diverticulitis pocket ruptured in her colon.
Since her body did not react to antibiotics, she developed sepsis, that led to a colostomy/stoma surgery that has kept her alive.
I traveled to Charlottesville Virginia as soon as I got the devastating news.
Charlotte was still in critical condition when I arrived at her bedside.
Knowing how traumatic this life changing event would be for my sister, I wanted to be there to hold her hand.
Charlotte was in a lot of pain. And that suffering continued for weeks.
Those of you who are blessed to know Charlotte, have experienced the energy, joy and love that shine through her everyday.
Even with all the discomfort she was experiencing, she never stopped shining bright.
She was even making jokes to the Doctors and Nurses who gave her care.
Charlotte kept us all laughing in her darkest moments. I would sit in her hospital room, in disbelief, at how humble, selfless and gracious she was, and still is, during such a troubling time.
Charlotte still has a long road ahead of her.
She is going to have a colonoscopy in January 2023, that will hopefully clear her for a colostomy reversal surgery in February, if no complications are found.
Living and contending with the colostomy bag has been a daily challenge for her.
Since Charlotte is struggling financially, I started a “Go Fund Me”.
Please take a look and help in any way you can.
The money goes directly to Charlotte. It will help her pay high insurance deductibles, continuing medical expenses and lost wages over the next couple of years.
Thank you for your support and taking the time to read this post.
With much love.
