Hello, 

This is Marcella McDonnell Stevens, Charlotte Polino Gaaserud's friend, and her care managers, Shelby Brown and Nikki Zeldin. Charlotte has advanced Multiple Sclerosis and is confined to a wheelchair. Due to diminished strength in her arms, it is difficult for Charlotte to propel herself around in a manual wheelchair. A power wheelchair would greatly improve her qualify of life and one is available, but the cost is significant - $9800. The skilled nursing facility where Charlotte lives has contributed $5500 towards the costs, so our goal is to come up with the additional $4300.

In addition to funds for a power wheelchair, we would also like to raise money to help Charlotte pay for her cell phone bill, small personal items, and things she enjoys like peppermint patties, an occasional pizza, coffee and most importantly higher quality adult wipes and skin barrier ointment than are not provided by insurance. Charlotte has no income, and while her essential needs are met by the skilled nursing facility where she lives, she cannot purchase these additional items without help.  We've set the goal in hopes to cover these expenses for the next 2-3 years.

Thank you to those of you who contributed to the previous Go Fund Me we hosted in 2023 which is how she's been able to keep these extras for the last two years. We hope you will contribute again and also spread the word! 

Despite Charlotte's circumstances, she continues to maintain an incredibly positive attitude and a great sense of humor.
