Our good friend Charlotte Costello nee Kelly (44) a staff member of Summerhill College, originally from Cartron Estate and now living in Glencar needs your help to support her and her family with current and future living and medical expenses including travel abroad for additional medical expertise if so required.

Background
On 1st November 2018 Charlotte was diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma which is a rare, aggressive form of cancer.
Charlotte & her husband Jonathan (our work colleague in The Sligo Weekender) have 2 gorgeous young girls; Julianna aged 6 and Alicia aged 4. So, at the time of diagnosis they were devastated.
Seven days later, before they had even processed the horrific news, they were told that it had unfortunately spread to her lungs. After this, Charlotte endured a horrific few weeks of illness caused by the tumour in her womb and subsequently went through 2 months of chemotherapy to shrink the tumour. She had to undergo a hysterectomy to remove the tumour in her womb. Then after a scan last February Charlotte and her family learned from Doctors that although the cancer didn’t spread, the tumours remained unaffected, and further stronger chemotherapy would be necessary. Throughout this process Charlotte has remained positive but understandingly this was a devasting blow for her.
However, following consultation with her Specialist in Galway University Hospital and being the resilient person that she is, she has now started a course of very intensive chemotherapy which means further illness and time spent in Galway hospital away from her family.
Goal
We, Charlotte's family and friends, have decided to set up this Go Fund Me page for Charlotte & Jonathan, Julianna and Alicia. Funds are needed to help Charlotte with all aspects of further treatment and care, to help support Jonathan and their 2 young children. Charlotte will not be able to work in the foreseeable future and Jonathan can only work part time as his first priority is caring for Charlotte and their girls. Money is not a priority to them but any contribution would be greatly appreciated as financial worry is one less stress for her and her family at this difficult time.
Of course, Charlotte is not the only person to be going through something so tough but we would appreciate any help you can give just to lighten the load a little bit for her and her family.
We are appealing to the whole community of Sligo and beyond to support this fundraiser for “one of our own”
