Charlotte's SHAD Canada Tuition

Hi, my name is Charlotte and I am excited to share that I have been accepted to SHAD Canada! SHAD is a globally recognized, highly competitive, immersive STEM Entrepreneurship Program. Each year, thousands of grade 10 and 11 applicants compete, of which less than half are offered a placement. I applied for this program in hopes of expanding my learning and knowledge, as well as branching out and gaining experience as I near the end of high school. For the last year, it has been my dream to be able to attend this program, so I am absolutely overjoyed at my acceptance. I have worked diligently, with passion and determination, and am extremely excited about this incredible accomplishment!

This amazing summer opportunity to be part of SHAD Canada will only be possible with your support.

Not only will this be an incredible learning experience, allowing me to completely immerse myself in the world of science, but it will also connect me to many post-secondary benefits such as exclusive scholarships, references, and expanding opportunities. SHAD runs for the full month of July as an in-residence university experience. It includes seminars and lectures from world-renowned university professors and industry professionals alike, covering various fields and topics as well as focusing on a month-long, overarching, entrepreneurial project catering to an issue of current global concern. Topics covered in the past have been related to nanotechnology, programming, and environmental sciences. With weekly excursions, lessons, and events, it truly incorporates the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) world into all aspects of its duration.

This program will advance my knowledge and understanding of the world, as well as provide insight into university/post-secondary life, all the while challenging me to think critically and explore a slew of unique and innovative subjects. SHAD’s month-long intensive will teach me to embrace risk and further cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset, making and leveraging strong connections for future collaboration.

Here is where your support can make this possible. The SHAD program fee is $6,850 – which includes the programming I have described, full room and board, meals, materials, trips and supervision. Upon acceptance of my offer, I will be awarded a placement at one of the top universities across Canada. With locations from coast to coast, I could be placed at Dalhousie, McMaster or the University of British Columbia. It will also be my responsibility to cover travel expenses there and home, plus incidentals. My goal is to raise the remaining $6000 by May, in the hopes that I will be able to attend. Any contribution, large or small, truly makes a difference, and I would greatly appreciate it!

100% percent of the money raised will go towards my SHAD tuition.
