Sadly on the 27th June 2022 i lost my mum to alcohol addiction which is why me and my best friend Sienna are running the vitality london 10k to raise money and awareness for alcohol change uk.

So many people knew her as such a loving, caring, thoughtful person who was willing to help anyone which is why we would love to help anyone in the same position that has the chance to help themselves or their loved ones get a second chance at turning their life around for the best as we wanted nothing more for my mum.

My mum was battling alcohol addiction for many years which got increasing worse. We tried for years to get her the help she needed but in the end it was too late.

In the middle of June she finally realised she needed help and went into hospital. We got to spend 10 days with her, going to visit her everyday and trying to keep her in high spirits but unfortunately on the 27th of June we got a call in the middle of the night to come down to the hospital to which they told us the heartbreaking news that my mum had passed away. The pain that i felt as a 15 year old girl is something i would never wish on anyone, my world felt like it had fallen apart. It affected so many people massively.

One of the last things my mum had said to me is “i’m going to get better baby i’m going to do it for you”. Now i feel like it’s my time to repay her to do something for her as i know she would be so proud.
