Hi! I'm Charli - I'm a trans girl currently based in NYC, but originally from England.

I'm incredibly lucky to be studying in NYC on a Fulbright, and that means I have access to gender affirming care that is currently completely impossible to access back home. The American healthcare system is flawed in many ways, but access to health insurance has made facial feminisation surgery - something I used to think I would only ever be able to dream about - finally possible for me.

I'm now currently scheduled to have facial feminisation surgery on April 7th.

As someone from a working class background in the North, I really never thought this would have been possible for somebody like me. I have been HUSTLING! for this past year and a half and working like crazy behind the scenes to secure the money for the procedure itself.

Those close to me know that I don't have a lot of family, and the family I do have are unable to support me. That means I currently don't have a caretaker in NYC for the recovery period. This fund would secure some final funds to facilitate my chosen family & sister Laurie to come to NYC and nurse me back to health. It would cover groceries and other recovery essentials.

Anything you can give, big or small, would mean the world to me and truly help me rest and recover safely with a consistent caregiver.
