Charlie and Holly will be travelling to Montreal and spending an extensive amount of time having multiple surgeries to help correct his spine and rib abnormalities due to VACTERL .

My nephew Charlie is an 11 yr old boy who has dealt with many challenges with his VACTERL diagnosis . Despite those challenges Charlie continues to defy the odds with his resilience.

He will be having a series of surgeries keeping him and his mother Holly in Montreal for approximately 10 weeks . During that time our parents will be travelling back and forth from Montreal to Saint John with Charlie's 2 younger siblings . Holly will be staying in hospital room with Charlie , but will be responsible for all meals and further accommodations when her other children are visiting .

I would love to help them with travel , meals , hotel stays & and any medical accommodations Charlie needs over this long healing process.

He will first have surgery to remove his current spinal hardware from 2020. He will be also be having a hemi vertebrae removal & neck vertebrae fusion . A Halo traction procedure to stretch his spine will be done, which will continue to stretch his spine for 2+ weeks. Then will follow is an extensive surgery to place manual growing rods , lower spine fusion , corrective surgery for rib malformation and possibly more procedures needed. He will be travelling back to Montreal every 6 months for surgery for the next 6+ years.
