The money raised will benefit Charlie's son, Aidan. This will help pay for his college and future.
Our hearts are breaking as we share the news that our beloved Charlie Campbell passed away on Thursday evening, December 12, 2024, at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, California.
Charlie/Chat passed away surrounded by his wife Gina, Aidan, his amazing sisters Gina and Kay, and Kevin and Bill, awesome brothers-in-law. His sweet nephew Bill, Jr., was there and said the most beautiful blessing over Charlie/Chat before they had to let him go. His courageous sister-in-law Monica and niece Ruby were there, comforting Aidan.
If you weren’t aware, Charlie had been fighting a rare form of cancer for the past 16 months. He was very private about it and never complained, regardless of how much pain he was in or how bad he was feeling. Through it all, he remained positive and touched many lives. Gina and Aidan are so thankful for the love and strength from their family and friends as they are grieving the loss of their husband and father.
Gina and Aidan want to thank all the family, friends, neighbors, and work colleagues who have reached out to them with food, flowers, checks, gift cards, and genuine kindness as we navigate their lives without him. Once they have made all the arrangements, someone will post the information for the celebration of life. Thank you for your prayers, thoughts, kind words, and heartfelt messages during this difficult time; it means the world to us.
Charlie/Chat was loved by many and made such an impact with his acts of kindness, humor, and genuine giving heart. His family is so thankful they had one more visit to New Orleans to see friends and enjoy our favorite places. This year they went on a road trip up the Cali coast to Cambria, Ben Lomond & Monterey. Their final family trip to Maui was in March. A highlight was seeing the breathtaking sunrise over Haleakala. Gina and Charlie lovingly renewed their wedding vows on board the Queen Mary on June 1st, the day after their 20th anniversary. They enjoyed some wonderful concerts during this year, such as Dogstar, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Marc Broussard, Paul Weller, and one more Scottish Fest. He was so proud and full of joy to watch Aidan graduate from the Ryman Arts scholarship program, graduate from Los Amigos High School, and attend his first semester at Golden West College.
The family will have a private celebration of life.
We will miss him forever.
