Charlies Story,
Charles Knox Jr. was a local high school student. Tragically, he passed away on December 17, 1998 at the age of 16. Charlies dad was a Philadelphia Police Officer, who was also tragically killed in the line of duty on August 30, 1992. Charlie was 9 years old at the time. It was a very difficult time for Charlie but he was a very strong little man.
As he grew, Charlie enjoyed hockey, music and computers. He was a bright, compassionate individual who worked hard and always found to time to help others. As a true team player and a genuine friend to all those who knew him, Charlie exemplified goodwill. This scholarship is made in his memory and is awarded annually to a student who demonstrates financial need and the desire to persue higher education. The award is primarily granted on the basis of need, as Charlie considered helping others to be of the utmost importance.
All scholarships are administered through the Guidance Counselor office at the Ocean City High School in NJ.
We are in our 19th year of fund raising and have decided that this will be the final year. This is our first year we have used "Go fund Me". We hope this will enable us to secure additional funds from people who might want to donate but can't attend our annual benefit. Please help us reach our goal and go out with a bang!
Thank you for your support. Arlene Knox
