Charlie’s fundraising
Donation protected
I am trying to raise funds for my nephew Charlie McMaster to have adaptions made to his home in order for him to have his bedroom and wet room downstairs. My sister and brother-in-law are unaware I have set up this page as I know they wouldn’t want to be asking others to help.
Charlie was born at 25 weeks premature and was extremely poorly as a baby and as a result suffers with lifelong conditions such as Epilepsy, Nystagmus, partially sighted and Quadriplegia Cerebral palsy. The Quadriplegia Cerebral palsy impacts Charlies mobility and he is unable to stand or walk at all unaided. Charlie therefore needs support at all times.
The occupational therapist has assessed that in order to meet Charlie’s needs he requires a bedroom and wet room with specialist equipment downstairs which means an extension to the family home. The council are providing a disability grant towards the build and until recently they were informed they were receiving a loan however this is now not the case although the building work has now started. My sister and brother-in-law are now struggling to cover the costs themselves.
Charlie and his family have been through so much with his numerous ongoing health conditions. Many of you that know Charlie know he is a very happy and determined boy that wants to be as independent as possible. It would mean the world to the family to have the adaptions. I know times are hard but if we are each able to donate a small amount it will make such a difference to this amazing boys life.
