Charlie’s Fight Against Brain Cancer

Donation protected
Just two weeks ago, life changed forever for 4-year-old Charlie, her parents, Kate and Daniel and baby brother, Jack. What started as a routine eye test quickly turned into every parent’s worst nightmare. An MRI at the Royal Children’s Hospital revealed a massive brain tumour—bigger than a tennis ball—pressing on Charlie’s brain.

Within days, Charlie underwent two major surgeries including an incredible 21-hour operation. Surgeons managed to remove just over half of the tumour, but she needed multiple blood transfusions and spent three days in ICU in an induced coma to let her little body recover. When she finally woke, with complications including a collapsed lung and pneumonia, she still found the strength to be her cheeky self—tickling her dad’s neck and asking for sushi.

The tumour was diagnosed as a rare, aggressive form of brain cancer—only the third case in 15 years in Australia. The good news: it can be curable. But the treatment ahead is intense—months of high-dose chemotherapy, another major surgery, and finally, a specialised radiation therapy only available in Florida, USA.

Charlie’s little brother Jack, just two years old, misses his big sister and wants her home to play cricket in the backyard with. Kate and Daniel are doing everything possible to save their daughter, but the costs are overwhelming—medical bills, extensive time off work, daily expenses, and the huge cost of treatment overseas.

We’re asking for your help to give Charlie the best chance at a long, happy life full of sushi dates and cuddles. Any donation, big or small, will make a real difference.

If you can’t donate, please consider giving blood—the transfusions Charlie received during surgery quite literally saved her life.

Kate and Daniel would like to thank you for your love, kindness, and generosity. The amount of support they have received is enormous and they are forever grateful.
