I am reaching out to all of you animal lovers out there, with the hope that together we might be able to help little Charlie, get the eye surgery he desperately needs.

Charlie, has an eye condition called, Cherry Eye (prolapsed gland which produces tears), which requires surgical correction.    If left untreated, it causes very painful eye conditions, including corneal scarring, ulcers, ocular rupture and worse yet, blindness.   If you look at his photo, you will see the red tumor-like protruding masses in both of his eyes.  Please understand that this surgery is needed for medical reasons and for Charlie's "quality of life".  It is NOT for cosmetic reasons.   As you can see in his photo,  he is cute and lovable even with this condition!      

Charlie is still a very young dog (only two years old),  has a very sweet demeanor, is very active, loves his humans and canine best friend!  He is full of life and has his whole life ahead of him, hence, I thought that perhaps we could get people to rally around him and help him out so he can have his much needed surgery.   

I would not ask for your help, if the family that owns Charlie had the financial means to seek the medical care he needs.   Unfortunately, they are going through a very difficult time and things don't look to change any time soon.   Sadly, Charlie does not have the luxury to wait for better times, as these tumor-like masses can harden up and become more difficult to correct.  

If we are able to raise the funds needed, Charlie will have his surgery performed by Dr. J. Brinkis, at the Eye Care for Animals Clinic in Tustin.  His surgery will be scheduled as soon as our goal is met.
