Charlie is recovering from what could have been a nasty infection. The little hairball is not in any pain, but he is on meds — and not happy about it. There will probably be a couple of follow-up visits and you know how expensive those can get.

The bad news is that he blew a large unexpected hole in our budget -- we're already in the middle of house remideling and car repairs and Charlie's emergency was not planned for. We expect August will be better, but in the meantime, we're having a gofundme-book-sale.

Up front, let me say, this isn't a critical emergency, just a momentary annoyance while we try to cover the last few expenses of the month. More important, there are a lot of people who need your help more than Charlie does, so please do not feel obligated to help here. Help where you can, when you can.
