Hi, my name is Mel and I am fundraising for my best friend, Kate and her fiancé, Jacob.

They were so excited to be expecting a little boy early in 2025. Tragically their son, Charlie William Paterson, was born asleep on Christmas morning. This unexpected tragedy has left them and their two daughters heartbroken. All their hopes and dreams for their baby boy have now been crushed. I am wanting to raise some money so Jacob can stay at home to support Kate and their two young daughters as they try to come to terms with the loss of their son and deal with their grief. Losing a child is absolutely heartbreaking and the pain is unbearable.

Jacob and I are so heartbroken to share the news of our sweet little boy who was born asleep on Christmas morning 25.12.2024 at 9:55am

Our first born son, after devotedly raising our two daughters Harper and Ava.

Being a parent is truly our purpose in this lifetime and we are just broken with the devastation after months of preparation, dreaming and loving our sweet boy.

We never imagined that we would be waking up on Christmas Day and spontaneously giving birth by 9:55am, facing surgery afterwards and leaving the hospital empty handed.

We are left to pick up the many pieces of our hearts as we learn to live with the grief of losing our son but are so grateful for the support of friends and family.

We are needing support to allow Jacob some time to step away from running his business so he can take time to grieve and be together while we face this heavy postpartum and surgery recovery phase painfully without our baby and also assist in celebrating Charlie’s life once we are ready to do so.
