Charlie Warner Fights a Neurotransmitter Disorder

Donation protected
At the age of 6 months, Charlie Jo's parents noticed that she was having a hard time meeting developmental milestones.  After seeking an opinion of a pediatrician, testing was started on Charlie Jo.  Within a week, Charlie Jo had a VP shunt placed at Wesley Medical Center.  Shortly after the shunt was in place, Charlie Jo began to experience long episodes of lethargy and vomiting, sometimes lasting for several hours.  She was diagnosed with epilepsy and cerebral palsy at this time.  However, no medication given was lessening her symptoms and her little body was still not progressing as it should, so further testing was recommended.  After many trips to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City (this is quite the trip for them as they reside in Medicine Lodge), Charlie Jo has been diagnosed with a rare neurotransmitter disorder (rather than epilepsy or cerebral palsy after-all).  While there is no cure for her disorder, there is the option of treatment with a medication that is proving to be hard on her little body.  There will be many trips to Kansas City, lots of therapy appointments and of course, the cost of medication.   All donations will go to the Warner family to assist with medical and travel expenses.
