Help Charlie the Parrot Stand Again – One Toe Down, But Not Giving Up!
Hello!
My name is Charlie, and I’m a 9-year-old sun conure parrot with a bright soul, a loud squawk, and a very challenging journey ahead of me.
I’ve been living in a loving home for the past 8 years after being rescued from a neglectful owner who clipped my wings so severely, I never learned how to fly. But even without flight, I’ve lived a joyful, grounded life – full of cuddles, snacks, and love.
Sadly, I recently underwent a major surgery to amputate my rear toe (the hallux), which is crucial for a parrot’s balance and stability. Without it, even standing or climbing is incredibly difficult. I’m currently hospitalized and beginning a tough journey of healing and adaptation.
At home, my beloved partner Mango – my feathered soulmate – is missing me terribly. She doesn’t understand where I’ve gone, and her sad chirps are a daily reminder of how much we need to be reunited.

Why We Need Your Help
Charlie’s surgery, hospital stay, post-op care, and upcoming rehab have created a heavy financial burden for our family. We are also making special adaptations to his cage to make it safer and more comfortable for his new needs. Additionally, we’re traveling 82 miles round-trip every other day to visit him in the clinic – which adds up quickly in fuel costs.
⸻
Your Support Will Cover some of:
• Veterinary costs and surgical bills
• Ongoing medication and hospital care
• Rehabilitation and follow-up treatments
• Cage modifications for his mobility needs
⸻
We’re trying to raise any amount of money to help give Charlie the best possible chance at recovery and a good quality of life. He may never fly, but with your help, he can learn to stand tall again – and return to Mango, who waits for him with her head tilted in hope.

How You Can Help
• Donate – any amount, big or small, means the world
• Share Charlie’s story with your friends and family
• Send love – emotional support helps too
Let’s show that even without a toe, parrot deserves a second chance at a full, happy life. Thank you for being part of Charlie’s journey.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Charlie, Mango, and their human family.
