Charlie the Dog Needs Surgery

We adopted Charlie the dog from a rescue about four or five years ago. He had been mistreated, given up for adoption, adopted then given up again. We adopted him and he has become the most faithful, loving little companion to our family. He has become especially close to our 14 year old daughter who has become dependent on his emotional assistance as she works her way through some personal issues. They are inseparable.
About 1 year ago he developed minor seizures, once every two months or so. Three nights ago he had a major seizure, flinging himself off my daughter's bed in the middle of the night. His head struck a dresser and he did not recover from his seizure. He has lost all range of motion on his left side. We then had an emergency trip to the vet in the middle of the night. He then saw a neurosurgeon the next day. The diagnosis was not great. He likely has a herniated disc in his neck. He has a really good chance of recovering completely but it requires an MRI and possibly surgery. The MRI is $4700 and the surgery, if needed, is around $5000. We can cover some of the expense but not all. He is young, vibrant and healthy. He has been eating, having bowel movements and drinking. He just can't walk. His chance of survival without the MRI and surgery is less than 25%.
We need funding immediately to help. The longer we wait the less likely the treatment will be successful. I have never done a go fund me but have donated before. Honestly, if it weren't for my 14 year old and her attachment to this little puppy this decision would be a lot easier, but I can't let that happen without exhausting all resources.
Please consider helping - The total cost is around $10,000, I can cover about half. But there is no sense in paying for the MRI if I can't fund the surgery. Thank you.
