Help Charlie ‘Plumpy Peaches’ Beat Nasal Cancer
Update: I have a brand new instagram page! Charlie Plumpy IG
In this first week of May we have been seeing positive changes in Plumpy’s energy levels. He is still eating well and pulling us ahead on daily walks. He’s been resting a lot but has seen visible changes in his nose improving and the cancer bumps there going AWAY! Scheduling another oncology scan to be done in June so we will see how much of the cancer has receded and go from there with next steps towards removing it completely.
Meet Charlie, “Plumpy Peaches” our Golden Retriever
Our beloved golden lab, Charlie, is about to turn 9 years old. Anyone who knows him will tell you he’s the kindest soul you’ll ever meet. He greets every stranger like an old friend, never barks without reason, and has the patience of an angel—except when it comes to begging for a bite of your delicious food at dinner! Or asking to go on a WALK :)
Charlie has never asked for much—just belly rubs, walks outside, afternoon naps, and the occasional scrap of human food. He’s been our loyal companion through every up and down in this life, greeting us with a wagging tail and an angel’s heart.
A Tough Diagnosis
Over the last few weeks, our world has turned upside down when Charlie was diagnosed with nasal cancer. A nasal cancer known as 'SCC' which stands for "squamous cell carcinoma." Without surgery/chemotherapy, his oncologist estimates he has only 6 months left to live. But with treatment, we can give him back the time—and quality of life—that he deserves. Potentially even get rid of his growing tumor!... as we are catching it before it spreads to other vital organs, like his lungs. Thankfully, a recent scan shows cancer is currently just in his nose area and not in his lungs.
Why Your Help Matters
Surgery & Chemotherapy for canine nasal cancer is expensive—up to $15,000+ including scans, meds, and follow‑ups. We’ve exhausted savings and insurance won’t cover oncology treatment. That’s why we’re asking for any amount you can share. Even $5 helps keep Charlie’s tail wagging another day, and hopefully for years to come so you can meet him too.
How Funds Will Be Used
$TBD: Surgery (est. 5k)
$TBD: Radiation (est. 3k-15k)
$1,350x3: Follow‑up scans (per visit; 3 so far)
$2,500: Medications and supportive care
Remaining balance: TBD
