On August 31, 2018, Charlie Hall was told that he had Stage IV rectal cancer at just 34 years old. This father of 2, husband, son, and brother had to face a journey that no one should have to walk through.
Charlie has endured 19 rounds of infusion chemotherapy, portal vein embolization (intervention for liver), 5 days of short course radiation, rectal tumor removal, ileostomy placement, Y90 placement (radioactive glass beads into liver tumors), liver resection surgery, gallbladder removal, ileostomy reversal, and 1 1/2 rounds of oral chemotherapy which had to be stopped due to severe reaction.
All of these appointments, scans, procedures, and surgeries have resulted in travel to and from Houston, TX. With one month of living in an apartment in Houston.
Charlie and Vanessa continue to do all they can to provide an active life for their children where they can participate in the normal things that any 6 and 9 year old child would do. Keeping things normal for the children is their number 1 priority.
This fundraiser has been set up in anticipation for the upcoming surgery that Charlie needs and then follow up chemotherapy once he is healed from the surgery. Please know that every dollar you may donate, goes directly to medical costs, hotel bills, transportation around Houston as needed, flights, and meals.
Please share and invite your friends to follow the #charliestrong journey.
