Please help Charlie to fight her Brain Tumour

Donation protected
I never thought I'd find myself writing one of these pages but you never know where life will lead us and what situations we will find ourselves in.

Unfortunately on the 13th February this year a close friend of mine and fellow Exmouth girl Charlie Gilmour 38 years of age. Unexpectedly collapsed in a full seizure in front of her 12 and 17 year old daughters.
The girls were so brave and calmly called 999…

later that night, Charlie got the earth shattering news that an mri showed a lesion on the brain, and was told there and then things “didn’t look good”. A week later she had open brain surgery, whilst awake, to take away as much of the tumour as possible, but was already warned they can never take it all.
A few weeks later it was confirmed, and Charlie was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer, a Glioblastoma tumour growing on the communion site of the brain. She can’t have it removed or it will render her completely disabled. This was all in a matter of weeks for her and her girls. So much to take in.

Unfortunately radiation and chemotherapy has little to no effect on a Glioblastoma, so it’s currently Charlie’s brave decision to refrain from traditional treatment. She’s embarked on the healthiest of lifestyles, alternative treatments, and looking at trials that could benefit herself or other sufferers in the future. She’s going for quality of life and longevity.

Unfortunately these things to keep her around longer costs a lot of money and none of it is available on the NHS.
She had started a new business just last year after her 20 year barbering career. It was going so well and that’s just another level of hurt for her. She put everything she had into the business and now can’t work.
As a single mum she’s always worked so hard, And now she’s got nothing to show for it.

We’d love to make sure she has enough money for alternative treatment to keep her comfortable, potential trials, and quality of life for her and the girls as well as being able to make some lasting memories with them both.

Ironically Charlie did many shaves for cancer research over the years. Two just last year.
She always gave free cuts for homeless, and would always get involved to give her time for charity. She never had much money, but she always gave her time!!

She’d never ask for it, but she needs our help now.
I understand times are hard for people right now So please if anyone can help donate even if something small to help I know charlie and the girls would be ever so greatful.
