Charlie was diagnosed with a rare form of bile duct cancer shortly before Christmas, the diagnosis was unexpected as he had been admitted to the hospital for a different medical issue. The type of cancer he has cannot be cured.  After  Charlie sought a second opinion at Sloan Kettering in NY with the same prognosis, he & Kathy returned to Virginia.  At their recent oncology appointment they were made aware that recent tests showed Chemo to extend his life was no longer an option .
Now back in Virginia on Hospice, Charlie, Kathy and Joe are spending these final days dedicated to making the most of time together.
The medical bills are increasing and as the family researches final expenses, it is obvious to all that additional financial support is critical to keep Charlie comfortable with the support of hospice and ensure Kathy & Joe have the means to lay Charlie to rest when the time sadly approaches.
