Charlie and the Flying Toboggan

Hi, I'm Kevin, and I'm raising money to create a 22 minute film entitled 'Charlie and the Flying Toboggan.' It will have a storybook feel to it as it is made for young people. This past summer, I created all the backgrounds in Photoshop, but the characters will be real - shot against green screen and incorporated into these evocative landscapes.

The film will be extremely entertaining for the entire family, as it will be tongue-in-cheek with light, frothy humour, terrific visuals, and archetypal good and evil characters straight out of English pantomime. Visually it has elements of Roald Dahl's 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' and the imaginative work of Terry Gilliam.

It's an important film to me because its challenges will stretch my filmmaking skills - especially in the effects department - and it will also strengthen my quirky aesthetic sensibilities.

I'm hoping eventually to get the film on television and various streaming platforms.

The funds will be used to pay a portion of the lead actors' honourarium as well as a camera operator and a VFX specialist.

For those who donate, you could be an Extra in the film if you so choose; be an audience member in an art gallery, a passenger on a bus, a prison guard, and more.

I'm essentially doing the film for the love of it and will be donating my time and efforts.
