Friends,

We all know that Snickers and Charlie held a special place in David’s heart and he loved them dearly. We’re happy to say that they are reunited with Carlos, are in good care, and have settled in with their new roommate, Casey Jones (see photo above). It’s great that Snickers (10 years old) and Charlie (9 years old) can be in a familiar, loving and safe home, with someone they already know and trust. However, after a rough few years, they have some health issues which are racking up a big vet bill.

Both dogs have now had full exams and are getting vaccine updates. The most pressing immediate issue is their teeth/dental health, which we know is linked to a variety of other ailments. Charlie recently had a dental cleaning, during which 7 teeth fell out due to gum disease, and the Vet recommends removing 7 more. The Vet estimates $2200 for all of Charlie’s dental issues. Snickers is up next, with a similar estimate. They also need vaccine updates

Friends of David have come together to establish a Charlie and Snickers Health Fund. We’re seeking donations from all who cared about David and want to help ensure his four legged BFFs are well cared for for the rest of their days. All the funds will be held in the Fund and distributed directly to the Veterinarian as care is needed. Any extra after this immediate set of health issues will be held for future vet care or dog health insurance, if it is obtainable at their old age. Receipts will be available should anyone want to see them.
