Many of you already know Charlie and Sandra, from Whiting, In. with 5 children at home. Charlie is my uncle, but always felt more like a big brother to me. He has always been there if you ever call on him for anything. If you're in need, he'll show up in a minute. Sandra, always that rock in the corner and I just love being around.
On Saturday, June 19th, after leaving a memorial benefit ride with proceeds going to Cancer for Kids Foundation, Charlie and Sandra were involved in a motorcycle accident in Valparaiso, In.
While entering an intersection, an oncoming vehicle did not yield and struck Charlie and Sandra resulting in very serious injuries. They were both air lifted to University of Chicago and are in ICU. They both have shatter and broken bones, and will require several surgeries.
Sandra had her first surgery yesterday and they are preparing Charlie for his surgery. They both have a long recovery ahead of them but they will get through this!
With the kids at home, our family came together to cover their rent for July and food for the kids while they are in the hospital recovering.
On behalf of my family, we are asking for any support for my uncle and his wife.
As you all know the burden of hospital expenses, ambulance rides, and airlifted to Chicago, the bills will be devastating to deal with.
Many have asked how they can help and we are so grateful everyone has gathered together to support Charlie and Sandra and their family.
The outpouring of love an support for my uncle and his wife is overwhelming. We appreciate your prayers and support during the most difficult time in their lives.
