In rememberence of Charlie and Noah

Donation protected
As a lot of people know we lost two beautiful sons last year. For those who don’t, Noah who was only 6 hours old passed away on the 11th June 2018, and Charlie who was 3 years 4 days old passed away on the 4th July 2018.

To say we are devastated would be an understatement, but we want to do something that can let their memories live on and help other families as well.

With the boys, especially Charlie, we had many stays in lots of different children’s hospitals, sometimes staying months. Our goal is to raise money to go towards much needed equipment for one of the hospitals Charlie spent a lot of time in, Northwick Park Hospital, for machines such as opti-flow and c-pap machines.

Most people wouldn’t have a clue what theses machines are, we didn’t before we were blessed with Charlie and Noah, but basically they are machines to help babies and younger children breath when they are poorly. Lots of children who have chest infections such as bronchitis or even younger babies who have a simple common virus can often have life threatening symptoms and can’t breath effectively on their own this is why machines such as opti-flow and c-pap are so important.

As I’ve already mentioned we had  many visits to lots of different hospitals with Charlie, but Northwick Park was his local so we spent a lot more time there. There was times when the ward was so crowded that opti-flow and c-pap machines were so scarce children and babies couldn’t even get the use of one, therefore making their condition more life threatening. I remember one time we were in that position with Charlie, there was another baby who needed the c-pap machine and Charlie needed it to, because Charlie arrived later than the other baby, the other baby was using the machine. We were given the decesion to either let Charlie try to fight off his chest infection himself, without the opti-flow or c-pap which could help his breathing, or have him induced so he could go to a hospital that had children’s intensive care units. Charlie’s breathing was so bad we had to have him induced, it broke our hearts but we were left with no choice. I think he was only about 10 or 11 months old.

Noah our other angel was only 6 hours old when he passed away. We got to do so much with him in such a short amount of time, but it was never enough. Any amount of time with both of the boys is never enough. If we could help other families get more time with their children and loved ones it would make us beyond happy.

We would love to be able to provide Northwick Parks children’s ward with these machines so no one has to go through what we went through. They currently only have one of each on the ward, a ward that is already massively overcrowded.

Northwick Park holds a special place in our heart, it’s where Charlie was cared for a lot of the time and it was ultimately where he passed away. We would love to raise this money and dedicate it in memory of our two boys, they lit  our world up when they were here, and hopefully by doing this and remembering them they can light up other families lives as well. If anyone can help us reach this goal, no matter how small, it will be deeply appreciated. xx
