Urgent Plea For Help!
Charlene AKA Charlie, Age 37, is a:
Mother
Daughter
Sister
Cousin
& Best Friend!
My baby sister is DYING!
Her life is coming to an end!
We have gone weeks to days to having her on this earth, and having to tell her 7-year-old son that his mummy is going to heaven!
As I sit here by her bedside, broken, I am desperately asking for help!

Let me tell you my sister, Charlie’s story....
Her battle began at a very young age, first with thyroid problems, then with type 1 diabetes. She has never complained or taken life for granted, abused her body, or even enjoyed life’s simple things, which most get the opportunity to do!
Her early years of illness were controlled and managed by medication. Little did we know, it was the lifelong battle she was to face for the rest of her life!
My sister, Charlie, never asked or expected anything from anyone. She always accepted and faced whatever situation was thrown at her, without complaining!
Her biggest dream was to become a mother one day!
As the years passed, Charlie spent hours, days, and weeks in and out of the hospital. Needles, wires, bruised and broken skin became her normality. Yet each time, she faced everything with optimism, gratitude, determination, and the love, devotion, and support from her mother (Belinda) and the rest of her family. We've never had much, but love has been in abundance.
Fast forward to December 2016....
The first time cancer struck!
News no one EVER wants to hear!!
However, not long after Charlie (in 2017) had a reason to beat it with even more determination...
Her biggest dream was to become a reality....she was pregnant!
Yet medical professionals quickly advised her to terminate the life of the child she had desperately longed for her whole life!
SO I NOW ASK THIS...WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
My beautiful sister Charlie made the most unselfish decision anyone could make as a mother...
She chose to continue with the pregnancy! To risk her own life for her unborn child, she had longed for and loved already! Unaware that kidney failure had already begun.
2017...
Elijah was born prematurely at 28 weeks and 4 days old, entering the world a fighter and a life warrior, just like his mommy!
Whilst he grows stronger, Charlie needs dialysis due to kidney failure.
Next phase...
The pancreas attacks the kidney, a double transplant is needed and crucial, yet no hospital was willing to treat my sister due to the Malignant Melanoma Cancer!
Eventually, an amazing consultant from Blackburn Royal Infirmary in Lancashire writes to a specialist team over in the USA who specialise in double transplant cancer patients, asking for advice.
This led to a surgeon from Manchester Royal Infirmary agreeing to perform the double transplant operation once a suitable donor became available....otherwise, death before 40 was guaranteed to happen.
Ever the optimist (always) and without complaint, my sister watches Elijah thrive and grow stronger daily while waiting for a donor match.
Then...BOOM!!!
After 7 attempts at a possible match, we thought a miracle had happened...
Paired with a healthy donor at last...finally, we think all our prayers have been answered...the double transplant is a success!!
It’s now Charlie’s time to live a long, happy life with her son Elijah!
A new chance of life and a fresh start!
And for 6 whole weeks, life was bliss!!!
6 weeks was all my sister had been healthy before the failure of her organs began. The kidney started to fail.
Still determined, and without complaint, my beautiful sister put on a brave face and started anti-rejection medication.
Next phase: Fast-forward to Christmas 2023. While most of you were celebrating and prepared to welcome in a New Year, my beautiful sister welcomed back and relied on her old friend, insulin.
Then the cancer returned with a vengeance! Along with two brain tumours, spots on both her lungs and hip.
Life expectancy 1-5 years!
Chemo tablets and two rounds of Radiotherapy, and still she fought on, whilst being the best mummy to Elijah.
We think we have five wonderful years left, five years to plan and watch in awe as Charlie continues to fight the odds without complaint.
But, we were preparing, planning for the worst...
This disease doesn’t stop for anyone!
Within weeks...NOW DAYS! She now has 12 tumours on the brain, and 2 huge masses rooted in her stomach.
With all forms of treatment suddenly stopped, the tumours are aggressive...and time is running out!!
As a devastated and truly heartbroken family, all we have left to give her is one final goodbye. One that is deserving of a beautiful angel!
We need to raise as much as we can for the perfect funeral that she deserves. Anything extra will be used to help the upbringing of Charlie's 7 year old son.
So please help!
