Charley's Service Dog Training

Hi. My name is Cammy and this is my Service Dog In Training, Charley.
After over a year of applying for a service dog for my multiple life-threatening and chronic illnesses, I was turned down.
I went through so much work, waiting, hoping, and praying to receive a dog. A dog to help me regain independence, happiness, and quality of life.
After being turned down I was distraught and felt hopeless, I was led on for a year by this Service Dog company to basically be told that they can't help me.
My parents knew how much this affected me and how much effort I put into trying to get a Service Dog. They eventually took it into their own hands.
My mom was on a support page for one of my many diagnoses explaining the process I went through... when she came upon an amazing woman, this woman asked my mom "How would you feel if someone gifted your daughter a Goldendoodle puppy to be her Service Dog?". At first she was confused as to why someone would just gift a puppy to some random stranger, but after keeping in contact and many... MANY messages back and forth my parents decided to accept this gift to surprise me.
Charley came from a special family in California that breeds Goldendoodle puppies to be raised as Service Dogs, usually when they have a litter they gift/give one away to a veteran or someone in need to be their Service Dog. This litter they chose me.
I will forever be grateful for this decision.
After receiving Charley we started self-training him and enrolled him into training at a nearby Service Dog school. After a short amount of time and money straight from our pockets, later this school closed without barely any notice. This was confusing to us and was weird, but after many months and countless hours of searching... we've found the perfect trainers. These trainers will not only help train Charley but train me so we can work better as a team. Charley was bred for this and is already succeeding so much but I need help. Being disabled and not able to put 100% into training is hard, if I'm being honest I'm doing my best... but my best isn't enough. That's where these Service Dog trainers will come in. They will help Charley more in basic obedience, medical alert tasks, assistance tasks, and much more. Charley will learn to alert and assist to many things including my seizures, that sometimes cause me to fall and get severely injured because of how out of the blue they come.
With medical bills so high, the cost of treatments, and travel expenses in and out of state to see specialists for my multiple life-threatening and chronic illnesses... unfortunately paying for this training is something we need to ask for help with. That's why I decided to fundraise. We are trying to hit our fundraising goal before July 4th.
When donating you are not only helping us be able to get Charley the training he needs... you are also helping me regain my life.
My health, independence, happiness, quality of life, and so much more.
