I have an opportunity to go to Nepal in November with Make a Film Foundation, an organization that grants film wishes to children with serious or life-threatening illnesses.
This is their first international venture and will also encompass children dealing with the aftermath of the earthquake.
MAFF recently raised enough money to cover transportation, equipment rentals, post-production, and screening costs. But they rely on filmmakers and photographers to volunteer and donate their time.
I've done this three times in NYC and it has been a complete joy documenting the children and film crews I've been assigned to. Not to mention the families who end up with something to treasure forever.
The emotion of the day is palpable.
So, I'm asking for some help because this is a unique opportunity and I simply don't have the money to do it.
You will be helping those kids, me, MAFF, and, at the higher donation levels, some folks here who might need a good headshot and can't afford it.
Rewards are in the form of prints and portrait sessions.
Departure day would be November 8th. This has all happened suddenly and very quickly, so I'm putting a deadline of one week on this. I need to be funded by Wednesday, October 21st at midnight to allow enough time for any vaccines, getting a visa, etc.
