Charles Davis The Handyman's Leg Amputation
Donation protected
My name is Kimberly and I run a San Diego company called Vacation Rentals by Kimberly. I am fundraising for one of our beloved Handymen that helps to keep our vacation rental homes in order. He has worked for us for almost 10 years now. He has been an exceptional Handyman; always arriving cheerfully when he says he is going to, he is honest, and he is almost always able to fix any kind of home repair put before him (he is exceptionally good at appliance repairs!).
As many of you know, Charles has battled Diabetes for a long time, and had 1/3 of his right foot (all 5 toes) amputated 6 years ago due to a blood infection, called Osteomyelitis. This past February 2022 Charles fought off an additional infection called Cellulitis, in the same right leg. In addition to the Cellulitis, an arterial blood clot formed in the right leg, causing a loss of circulation. Sadly, on February 25th, 2022 he had a 2nd amputation; his entire right leg has been removed above the knee. He also has another vein clot in the left leg.
The clots, surgery, and the ongoing rehab has been very very painful and has left Charles unable to work as a Handyman for the near future. Recovery from losing a limb is traumatic and humbling. Charles is currently working hard at strengthening his remaining limb, in hopes of getting a prosthetic that will allow him to quickly return to his work again as a Handyman.
Please join me in donating to him if you have the means? This was unexpected and not planned for financially. Every dollar counts for Charles.... Thanks in advance for your giving spirit! It does not go unrecognized!
