Dearest community,
Many of you know, love, and kick it at the Charles St House, as this home has been in community for years and years. Recently, the current residents (dubbed "The People's Galaxy") are in a bind. Half our housemates' source of income have been greatly impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and are in need of financial assistance to make ends meet. We reached out to our landlord in hopes they could reduce rent or waive fees, and we instead received notice that the owners were also impacted and would be raising rent by $500 at the end of the lease in May.
You can send some $$ to support the current residents most impacted by this pandemic and keep the Charles St House in community as an epicenter of organizing and community joy.
The Need:
Rent/Utilities for 3 impacted roommates at 2 months: $3,560
Groceries expenses: $520
Cushion for rent increase/living expenses/moving fees for most impacted housemates if current residents are unable to sustain higher rent: $1,920.
