On the morning of February 18th, our friend and neighbor Charles Lee was T-Boned while entering on Rt 15 by the lower Cabot Road. Miraculously, he was able to walk away from the accident caused by a speeding winter driver headed East but, the fall-out from the accident includes the following: he has lost his truck which was his transport to his two jobs (Gates Salvage Yard and Bluestone Restaurant in Waterbury- he is now relying on rides to get to them), Thursday, February 28th he is having surgery on his left shoulder (he's been immobilized for 10 days with a shoulder blade, collarbone tendon malady~ expected recovery time 6-8 weeks; working after surgery is uncertain and he has no insurance for that, nor does he have medical insurance. Meanwhile, his ongoing expenses include child support and part-time custody of his 5-year old daughter, Amira, rent, hospital bills, food AND - he has to buy a new truck, and soon because THIS vehicle was the main transport for our beloved Back Road BBQ Food Trailer
https://www.facebook.com/backroadbbqvt/ . Gigs for that wonderful local business resume in April! (I'm remembering all the fun food lines with friends and tasty foods at numerous events across the community over the past few years and maybe you have a few good memories of them too). We want to help Charlie get over this hurdle and back on his feet without financial disaster. Won't you please help with a heartfelt donation or sharing the news of this campaign or, even better, by doing both. Please and thank you.
