It is with a humbled heart we reach out to friends and family in this, our time of mourning. We were not yet prepared to lose Charles emotionally or financially, and there are expenses we are unable to tackle alone. We are creating this page as a family to help Rose with medical and funeral cost.  We all believe she should not carry the sole burden for.

Charles was a giving man his whole life and all those who knew him, knew if he could help out in any way he was first to lend a helping hand in so many different way for family and friends, I know we can all pull together to help him out this time, by giving Rose the comfort and support she may need.

Please take the time to share with others and know that we are so grateful to everyone for all the love we have pouring in. Our hearts swell with everyone’s kindness, love and support. I have shared Rose’s post for those who may not have read it yet.

“ I know many of my family & friends have heard, but I want to be sure everyone does.    Charles was taken to the Emergency room yesterday morning with what we thought was COPD exacerbation from the new course of chemo for his cancer.  (He had Multiple Myeloma, which is cancer in the bone marrow.  It effects the blood & the bones)

 

Due to complications, Charles passed away peacefully yesterday.  We are all in shock, especially since he had been feeling better last week.  I will post the arrangement details later today.   Those of you asking for the address to send cards, please send them to:  The Goodwin Family, 2037 Phyllis Drive, Chesapeake, VA 23325. 

 

Charles fought a long, hard battle and still kept his sense of humor.  Anytime he was in the treatment rooms or a hospital, he kept the patients & staff entertained.  We had 30 years together, but it wasn't enough.  I will miss him every day.
