Charlene's Story , Help needed (massive FIRE loss)
Donation protected
On 4/30/19, Charlene and Rodney Eroh lost everything they owned due to a massive brush fire. In addition to their small home, clothes, car, they also lost their only means of income, a small humble honey bee farm, where honey was harvested and sold to community. Unfortunately, they did not have any insurance to cover any of this loss. Here's what the picture doesn't show... and why they desperately need your financial blessing at this time.
"WHAT THE PICTURE DOESN'T TELL & SOCIETY'S ASSUMPTIONS"
When I showed this photo , the assumption was that "they don't look poor". That they lived a priviledged life and he was a white collar worker, additionally, that I should not post the "happy wedding photo"... And that's exactly why I am.. because here's the truth of the story.
Charlene has sufferred daily multiple epileptic attacks, since the age of 12 ( 20 yr history). This started with a cat scratch disease and encephalitis diagnosis. She was in a coma for 6 months with no hope of surviving and she defied the odds.
Bound to a life of long term medical care, some mental medical challenges, denied medical insurance coverage at least 5 times now, this wonderful God focused man named Rodney still fell inlove with her and married her, knowing the amount of responsibility he was taking on. They have been married for 12 yrs and that smile on this photo is as genuine as it shows everyday.
He worked honestly and tirelessly to provide, most income going towards her medical needs and their daily needs. You see, Charlene needs to take 20 pills per day to control the number of seizures that would otherwise be 5-10 daily episodes. There's an urgent surgery that needs to happen but they can't afford it without insurance that keeps getting denied- the crazy catch 22 of bureaucratic red tapes that are endless.
They live humbly. His decision to be a small business entrepreneur was 2 part. First it afforded the time to care of his wife and second to have unlimited income growth. As any entrepreneur knows, having your own business is a mountainful of challenge. They made enough to just sustain their basic needs and some sacrifices have to be made, such as home/business insurance. That's hard to understand, unless we walked their shoes literally.
And now due to this fire, they have lost everything. We are working on getting them basic resources such as clothes, food, and they are with relative so for that they are greatful. But the reality is that it is going to take miracles to rebuild what they have lost, from a simple home, considering other means of income and even getting clothes and continuous medical provisions.
So we need your help in whatever amount you can willingly share. It would go a long way for this couple who had never asked for assistance despite all the challenges they had to overcome.
My open letter also serves as a gentle reminder, for society not to make quick assumptions or judgements from a picture. That wedding dress was a gift... the happiness, heart and smile is genuine.
Thanking you in advance for your own generous heart. May you be blessed ten fold for your own giving.
