Charlee Girl Needs Surgery

Donation protected
Our Charlee girl is a one-year-old chocolate lab with an unmatched personality. Her world revolves around fetch, any form of water, playing with her brother, and running around on the local trail. She's so full of life and we don't know how we ever did life without a her! Anyways, Charlee developed a limp a couple of months ago that was initially brushed off as growing pains. After all, she is our big-boned baby; weighing in at 95 pounds.  When her limp persisted over the next couple of weeks, we became worried that it was something more. We took her in and our fears were confirmed - Charlee was diagnosed with Osteochondritis Dissecans (OCD). OCD is an idiopathic, inflammatory disorder that's characterized by destruction of the cartilage in a joint. OCD has destroyed Charlee's shoulder joint and she can no longer do the things she loves. At this time, cage rest and anti-inflammatories have been no help, and her only option is arthroplasty. In layman's terms, she won't be able to do all of her favorite things until she undergoes surgery to repair the joint. We are currently living off of one income until I finish school next year. It kills us to see Charlee limp along our favorite trail while her brother runs ahead, turning back wondering why she's not herself. We understand that there are other people with much bigger issues in the world! But, we are looking for any monetary support to help us renew Charlee's quality of life and give her the life she deserves!
